Paola Speranza after graduating in achitecture at Politecnico in Milan, in addition to her freelance architect and designer job, she decided to support, as a consultant, the family company that has been working with marble for 3 generations. The passion for this material turns into a new project, Convivio, an original collection of contemporary objects for the table made entirely by hand. Every single piece, in its design,  shape, finishing and customization process, is handcrafted and therefore unique.

A short description of your collection.
All the collection stands out for its pure and essential geometric shapes, the result of my minimal taste and my studies. The purity of the shape enhances the magic of the raw material. Beauty and purity should not be hidden by eccentric and complex shapes, and this is why I researched for one-of-a-kind marbles, such as fine Italian, non-veined and colored material, with different finishes; some are timeless classics, others are no longer trendy for years and others are almost completely unknown. In addition to my love for marble, my passion for cooking and furnishings has always lead me, so it seemed natural to bring all the passions together in a single project called Convivio.

The added value of the collection is a great challenge for me: rediscovering and reinventing a new use for marble which I often recover from the scraps of slabs used for other works. After a careful choice and an obsessive attention to detail, I try to give them a new life.

What inspire you?
The experiences of everyday life, the colors and shapes that enchant me. Often I am inspired by the marbles that I find hanging around the company warehouse.
