Violetta Barba
THE TRADITION OF THE SOUTH OF ITALY MEETS CONTEMPORARY DESIGN
Violetta Barba is a multidisciplinary designer from Puglia. Graduated in Product Design at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Violetta returned to her homeland in the South of Italy, Lecce.
Her research is deeply rooted in a pragmatic investigation of matter and nature. Tracing identity and ties with the territory where she lives, Violetta re-proposes illustrations and products on a contemporary stage where precise functions are not necessarily recognized.
In her research, the intent to create collective knowledge and awareness through a narrative practice is clear and intelligible. From here, contemporary objects and abstract illustrations are born.
