Print Il Pozzo

The "Il Pozzo" print belongs to Gianmaria Aprile's Sentimenti Inattesi [Unexpected feelings] project: hand-printed leaves that intertwine multiple techniques, engraving and monotype, using ancient tools such as a wooden press and the baren - of Japanese custom - which helps to highlight or put in shadow some areas of the print.

The leaves are printed in limited series, because each step deteriorates the subject, so the result is a production of a few pieces, each with its own peculiarity and therefore unrepeatable, unique and different from the others.

An original project where Gianmaria Aprile tries to make the leaves immortal and timeless, giving them a new dimension. From his wandering through fields and woods and from the wonder in the first attempts to print leaves and engrave wood, the project took the name Sentimenti Inattesi [Unexpected feelings].
